G.I. Joe: Origins is a five-issue comic series published by IDW Publishing starting February 2009. It is penned by G.I. Joe comic legend Larry Hama--for the uninitiated, the man who basically created the G.I. Joe comics universe. The series will explore the formation of the Joe Team and the personalities that make up the team. This IDW reboot has been consistently getting top ratings from reviewers who grew up on the G.I. Joe Marvel comic books (1982-1994). Issue #5 concludes the storyline with Snake Eyes in action, infiltrating Chimera's underground base and coming to the aid of his fellow Joes. Judging from the rave reviews from G.I. Joe fans, making Larry Hama the permanent writer for any and all future G.I. Joe series would be the best move IDW can ever make.
